On our site, you are going to see a large collection of mainly oil paintings, all created by the most renowned artists in North Korea. Almost all of these artists whose work is shown in our site, work in the most prestigious state run art studio Mansudae Art Studio -Pyongyang. Some of these artists have received the Merit Artists or the People’s Artists awards – the two highest awards an artist can receive in DPRK.  Almost all are graduates of the very demanding Pyongyang University and some even furthered their artistic pursuit in universities in Russia.

These are some of the most difficult artwork in the world to buy, as most of it cannot be legally exported from North Korea, and it’s not easy to get the legal artwork out, either. Due to its scarcity there are only a few websites in the world have collections of North Korean art pieces. However, most of these sites are no more in operation or they have already sold out their art pieces and ceased to replenish.
